Code of Ethics

At the Digital Media Journalist & Content Creator Association (DMJCCA), we believe that credibility, integrity, and responsibility are the foundation of digital journalism and content creation. Every member is expected to uphold the highest standards of professional conduct and contribute positively to the digital media ecosystem.

SECTION 1

1. Integrity and Honesty

Members shall conduct themselves with honesty, fairness, and integrity in all professional activities, ensuring that their work reflects truth and credibility.

SECTION 2

2. Accuracy and Fact Verification

Members should make every reasonable effort to verify facts and information before publishing or sharing content. Corrections should be made promptly whenever inaccuracies are identified.

3. Ethical Journalism

Members shall practice responsible journalism by presenting information fairly, avoiding deliberate misinformation, manipulation, or misleading content.

SECTION 4

4. Respect for Law

Members must comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and legal obligations relating to digital media, copyright, privacy, intellectual property, and cyber laws.

SECTION 5

5. Professional Conduct

Members shall maintain professionalism in their communication, interactions, and public behavior, treating colleagues, audiences, and stakeholders with dignity and respect.

6. Respect for Privacy

Members shall respect the privacy, dignity, and rights of individuals and avoid publishing personal or sensitive information without lawful or appropriate justification.

SECTION 7

7. No Fake News or Misinformation

Members shall not knowingly create, promote, or distribute fake news, manipulated content, false information, or deceptive media intended to mislead the public.

SECTION 8

8. No Hate Speech or Harmful Content

Members shall not publish or promote content that incites hatred, violence, discrimination, harassment, or unlawful activities based on religion, caste, race, gender, nationality, or any other protected characteristic.

SECTION 9

9. Transparency and Accountability

Members should disclose sponsored content, paid partnerships, conflicts of interest, or any financial relationships that may influence the objectivity of their work.

SECTION 10

10. Respect for Intellectual Property

Members shall respect copyright, trademarks, and intellectual property rights by giving appropriate credit and obtaining necessary permissions before using the work of others.

SECTION 11

11. Responsible Use of Technology

Members should use digital technologies, artificial intelligence, editing tools, and social media platforms responsibly and ethically, without engaging in deceptive practices.

SECTION 12

12. Responsible Representation of the Association

Members shall not misuse the name, logo, membership, identification card, certificate, or reputation of DMJCCA for personal, political, commercial, or unlawful purposes without proper authorization.

SECTION 13

13. Professional Development

Members are encouraged to continuously enhance their knowledge and skills through education, training, research, and professional collaboration.

SECTION 14

14. Mutual Respect and Inclusivity

Members shall promote an inclusive environment that values diversity, equal opportunity, and respectful collaboration among all members regardless of background or profession.

15. Commitment to Public Interest

Members should strive to create content that contributes positively to society, promotes digital literacy, encourages informed public discourse, and supports democratic values through responsible communication.

By becoming a member of the Digital Media Journalist & Content Creator Association (DMJCCA), every member agrees to uphold this Code of Ethics, maintain the highest standards of professional conduct, and contribute to building a responsible, credible, and future-ready digital media community in India.
